PUNISHING COURAGEOUS JOURNALISTS
It refers to Delhi Police now lodging an FIR after two years against TV news-channel Aaj Tak and courageous journalists associated with sting-operation catching BJP’s Rajya Sabha member Chhatarpal Singh Lodha taking money to ask Parliamentary question. Instead of rewarding the courageous journalists, they are being punished to expose corruption in public life. Action of

police was based on report on the matter by a Rajya Sabha committee headed by Congress’s Karansingh. It shows shameful unanimity amongst rival political parties when mutual interest to mint money by corruption or otherwise is involved. It may be noted that on an earlier such sting, even Union Minister of State Shriprakash Jaiswal suggested such stings by CBI to catch the guilty ones. It is now clear why political bosses of most parties favour a President with political background so that a People’s President like Dr APJ Abdul Kalam might not interfere in their privilege for their unfair deeds.
